Margaret Medina

Margaret Medina, 93, of Mansfield, passed away at Winchester Terrace on Monday, January 28, 2019. Margaret was born on October 23, 1925 in Lansing, Michigan. She was the daughter of Cruz and Guadalupe (Vasquez) Garcia.

Margaret was a devoted mother and loving grandmother. She loved to entertain company and open her home to friends and family. She was employed at MedCentral School of Nursing in housekeeping, and was a member of MedCentral Forms Club. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Margaret enjoyed crocheting, quilting, enjoying the sunshine and bird watching.

She leaves behind her children, Susan (Gary) Taylor, Alfonso Medina Jr., Henry (Brenda) Medina, Linda Baker, and Mary (Matt) Findley; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four great great-grandchildren; sisters, Lupe Navarro, Mary Root, Rose Swaisgood, and Ellie Carte; and brothers, Henry, Joe and Ralph Garcia. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfonso Medina Sr.; sons, John and Joe Medina; sisters, Frances Thomas and Vickie Baker; and brothers, Juan, Ignasio, and Jesse Garcia.

Friends and family may visit from 5:00-8:00 pm on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S Diamond Street. Funeral service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 9:30 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
