Marge was born June 5, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio to Harry J. Maloy and Esther M. Barnes Maloy. She has lived in Mansfield for the past 60 years.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland and received her X-Ray Technician Certification through St. Vincent Charity Hospital in Cleveland.
Marge was a licensed Real Estate Broker for Chuck Warner and Associates for the last 65 years dealing with commercial and industrial sales and leases. She was the past president and originator of North Central Business Association. She was responsible for starting business trade shows around Mansfield. Marge was past president of the Rotary, and the 100-year Anniversary Clock on Main Street was her idea. She was a past board member and Vice President on Braintree Board. She was a board member of Mid-Ohio Youth Mentoring which was her favorite organization.
Marge was recognized in 1986 for her “Brady Bunch” Business since she had combined 2 families: her with 3 girls and her husband, Leland, with 3 boys. She was known as Mrs. Brady.
She was given a plaque and Key to the City for economic development in 1990. She has brought 85% of retail development into the area.
Marge is survived by her three daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Michele and Jeffrey Laine of Tampa Florida, Maura and Chris Hair of O’Fallon Illinois, and Robin Marshall of Wichita Falls, Texas. She has 2 surviving stepsons, Phillip and Kris Thompson of Lexington, Ohio, and Michael and Lorrie Thompson of Houston, Texas. She has nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She has 3 brothers, Dr. Robert Maloy, Arthur Maloy and Joseph Maloy, and one sister, Mary Frain. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Leland Thompson, and her stepson, Stephen Thompson. Marge will be missed by her many dear friends and business associates.
Family and friends will gather Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield and again Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 9:30 AM. A funeral service will follow beginning at 10:30 AM. Marge will be laid to rest at Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mid-Ohio Youth Mentoring.
