
Maria De-Los-Angels Suarez-Compton, 51, of Mansfield, died Sunday, September 11, 2005, at her home after an extended illness. Born January 8, 1954, in Matanzas, Cuba, she was the daughter of Miguel and Julia Rodriguez Suarez. She graduated from Regina High School in Cleveland in 1972 and Cleveland State University in 1976 with a degree in accounting. She was formerly employed as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration. She attended Mansfield Baptist Temple and was a member of A.A.R.P. A loving wife, mother, grandmother and daughter, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Maria was the best friend and traveling companion to her husband, Bobby Compton who survives her. She especially loved her mother and father who were like parents to her husband, Bobby, and enjoyed spending time with them as well as taking care of them. She was a loving, generous woman who will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her loving husband of 14 years, she is survived by two sons, Larry and Mark Compton, both of Mansfield; a daughter, Michelle Ellis of Largo, Fla.; eight grandchildren; her parents, Miguel and Julia Suarez; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Dave Hayhurst of San Diego, Cal.; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Terri Suarez of Cleveland; two special nieces, Gloria and Teresita Suarez of Mansfield; and special friend, Ellen Ferguson.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 15. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Dr. Dale Adkins. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
