Marie Jeannette Woodard

Marie Jeannette Woodard, 93, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was born on March 23, 1923 to Louis Frank and Phoebe Mary (Lambert) Pontbriand in Highgate, Vermont.

Marie was a co-owner of the former J Publications where she worked for many years with her husband. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, making jewelry, drawing, listening to music, and meeting with the public.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Daniel) Bottorf of Columbus; five sons, Jeffrey (Marsha) Woodard of Edgewater, Florida Jonathan (Donna) Woodard of Medford, OR, Gary (Gay) Woodard of Mansfield, Anthony (Diana) Woodard of Mansfield, and Thomas (Eillen) Woodard of Medford, OR; thirteen grandchildren, Angela (John) Boreck, Melissa (Jay) Schwegman, Jennifer (Bob Brill) Cathey, Jon (Gunhilder) Woodard, Tomas Woodard, Brynn (Nick) Lancaster, J.T Woodard, Carey Woodard, Brett (Alyssa) Woodard, Gabrielle Woodard, Jared Woodard, and Cassidy Woodard; and fifteen great-grandchildren, Shelby Suess, Izaak Schwegman, Phoebe, Hope, and Annie Schwegman, Jonathan Starr, Ethan Gardener, Aron Woodard, Daniel Woodard, Jaide Jackson, Reece Jackson, Lucas Brill, Gavin Woodard, Owen Woodard, and Connor Lancaster.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Jon Woodard, whom she married November 16, 1943; her granddaughter, Andrea Cathey; two brothers, Fabien and Lionel Pontbriand; and her four sisters, Aleen Mercier, Veronica Douglas, Beatrice Crowlis, and Alfreida O'conner.

Visitation will be Monday, September 26, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. A Mass Of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 26, 2016 at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 104 W. First St. Burial will follow at Prince of Peace Cemetery.
