
Marion 'Hoot' F. Carroll, 81, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 29, 2006 at Galion Community Hospital. Born October 19, 1924 in Grahn, Kentucky to Curtis E. and Maude Stevens Carroll. He worked at Mansfield Tire for 32 years, and owned and operated Carroll's Auto Wrecking for over 25 years. A member of the 25 Year Club of Mansfield Tire, Mr. Carroll enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing Euchre. He also enjoyed shooting guns, farming, and raising German Shorthaired Pointers. One of his greatest qualities was always lending a helping hand, and sharing his wonderful 'fish' tales.
He is survived by seven children and their spouses, Fran Bauers, Debbie and Eddie Stallard, Shirley and Tom Deeb, Kathy and Richard Weaver, James Carroll, Myron and Kathy Carroll, and Michael Carroll; grandchildren, Cassandra Jeff Glover, Bonnie Scott Garvin, William Haywood, Geneva Jason Russel, Sara, Amanda, Heidi, Flisha, Melissa, Ashley, Eddie Jr., Joella, Anthony, and Desiree Stallard, Tom Deeb II, Jessica Dustin Seitz, Mychi Deeb, Alisha Carroll, David and Jim Deeb, Bekah and Levi Lee, Andrea, Sarah, and Bradley Weaver, Marti, Chris, Bobbe, Jay, Dalton and Dallas, Cameron Robertson, and Matthew and Dylan Carroll; great-grandchildren, Shelby Bauers, Jessica Haywood, Maria Russel, Julianna McCoy, Alec Deeb, Colton, Chase, Brianna, and Baily; stepchildren, Lorena Jim Daugherty and family, Lisa Tony Frazier and family, John LaDonia Lykins and family, Angela Kegly and family, and Andrew Lykins and family; first wife, Margaret Carroll; brother and sister-in-law, Marvin and Pansy Carroll; and sister and brother-in-law, Nancy John Atkinson. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edith E. Carroll; daughter, Roxyann Carroll; and brothers and sisters, Rollen, Jeff, Maggie, Stanley and Watt 'Whitey' Carroll, and Jewell Fitzpatrick.
Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor David Greenich. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
