Martha Marie Baker

Martha Marie (Meyer) Baker, 77, of Mansfield, passed away Monday evening, February 15, 2016, at Crystal Care Center in Mansfield. She was born May 5, 1938, in Mansfield, Ohio, the only daughter out of five children of the late Paul and Margaret (Buxman) Meyer and grew up in Mansfield.

On December 4, 1954, she married Glenn O. Baker and they shared 56 wonderful years together. Martha was very giving and always willing to help those in need. Her favorite pastime was to crochet.

Martha is survived by seven children, Glenn G. (Joann) Baker of Willard, Cheryl J. Harmon of Mansfield, Scott Baker of Bellville, Shereen (Tim) Hall of Mansfield, Jilean (Timothy) Barker of New Port Richey, FL, Christopher (Metchlyn) Baker of Mansfield, and Heidi Baker of Norwalk; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn O. Baker on April 22, 2011; two daughters, Cindra Baker and Rebecca Hunt; and four brothers, Carl, Walter, Sammy, and Bob Meyer, one great grandchild Weston Glenn Baker, and Gidget her most beloved four-legged friend.

The family will receive family and friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 2016, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Glenn E. Baker officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery immediately following the ceremony. The family will greet family and friends at the Greenwich Community Center located at 13 Tilton St, Greenwich, Ohio, immediately following the burial.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that memorial contributions be made to the funeral home to assist the family with expenses. Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family of Mrs. Baker.
