
Martha M. Wentz Patterson, 84, of Mansfield, died Sunday, February 12, 2006 at Woodlawn Nursing Home after an extended battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Born August 15, 1921 in Mansfield, she was the daughter of George and Rose Stehle Wentz, Sr. She had worked for H.L. Reed and was a long-time member of the First Alliance Church. Mrs. Patterson graduated from Ontario High School in 1939. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. Mrs. Patterson loved garage sales, flea markets, and auctions. She also enjoyed watching basketball and boxing.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bruce A. Debbie Patterson of Mansfield; one daughter, Pam Ellen Patterson of Mansfield; three grandchildren and their spouses, Ryan and Melissa Patterson, Adam and April Friend, and Mark and Natalie Germann; three great grandchildren, Hayley Patterson, and Anthony and Ashton Germann; sister, Kay Hamilton of Mansfield; sister-in-law, Naomi Wentz of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester I. Patterson in 1991; one infant son; brothers, Fritz and George Wentz, Jr.; and sisters Rose Bowser, and Elizabeth 'Libby' Martin.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday February 14, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. James C. Cheatham. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or North Central Ohio Hospice.
