

Mary Jane "Janie" Frey, 75, of Mansfield, went home to be with her Heavenly Father, Tuesday afternoon, January 31, 2017, at her home. She was born December 8, 1941, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late John and Dorothy (Rock) Calhoun.
Janie was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and was quite the comedian, surprising everyone with her shenanigans. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and gave the best hugs ever. Janie was a "Mom" to all and made everyone feel special with her loving and forgiving nature. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her immense joy and she treasured the moments spent with them. She loved the holidays and family time spent playing many games.
Janie is survived by her husband, Fred Frey; son, Tim (Shari) Frey of Tucson, AZ; three daughters, D. Chris (David) Wright of Lawrenceburg, KY, JoAnn (Raymond) Wolfe and Patty (Bryan) Lutz, both of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Joey Bell, Aimee Boyer, April (Robert) Saccomano, Ryan Pratt, Cory Wolfe, Brandon Lutz, Bradley (Courtney) Lutz and Bryce Lutz; and five great-grandchildren, Gunner Hofer, Riley Southard, Morgan Turney, Kolby Lutz, and Alayna Lutz. She is also survived by a brother, Johnny (Marilyn) Calhoun of Butler; three sisters, Janice (Robert) Whittemire of MO, Janet Haburn of Dayton, OH, and Kathy Eldridge of Mansfield; and a number of nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Bill Boyer; daughter-in-law, Cathy Frey; and two brothers-in-law, Lewis Haburn and Richard Eldridge.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. A memorial service conducted by Pastor Kevin Evans will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Franklin Cemetery at a later date.
