

Mary "Billie" W. Hoffer, 93, of Mansfield, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. Born June 9, 1927 in Alabama, she was the daughter of Aaron and Gladys (Stephens) Lowrey.
An area resident since 1945, Mary was a school teacher retiring from Mansfield City School District and Richland New Hope and was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. She was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was a Red Cross volunteer for over 30 years. A beautiful seamstress, Mary loved to sew.
She is survived by her sister, Dr. Mildred Lowrey of Mansfield; her sons, Joe (Toni) Hoffer of Mansfield, Jim Hoffer of Mansfield, Ohio and Jeff (Sue) Hoffer of Lexington; her daughter-in-law, Janet Hoffer of Lucas; her grandchildren, Heidi, Jeremy, Carrie, Candace, Jared, Joetta, Jesse and Jenna; and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on September 21, 1999 by her husband, Frank Hoffer whom she married June 30, 1945; her son, Jerry Hoffer; and a brother, C.D. Lowrey.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by St. Peter's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call two hours prior to the service, from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Chapter of the American Red Cross.
