Maxine Reece

Maxine R. Bertsch Reece, 81, of Mansfield, died Monday night, June 23, 2008, at Woodlawn Nursing Home. Born September 16, 1926, in Holmes County, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Verda Miller Bertsch. She was a homemaker all her life and attended St. John's United Church of Christ.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda and Thomas Harbaugh, Mansfield; a son-in-law, Joseph Mollica, Lexington; five grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, Logan, Brennan, Carleigh Mollica all of Lexington; sister, Anna Madge and Harold Reese, Mansfield; nephew and caregiver, Roger Au, Mansfield; special caregiver, Mark Trainer, Mansfield; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great, great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William, whom she married August 27, 1949; daughter, Sharon Mollica; grandson, Aaron Mollica; brothers, Wiley "Argyl" Bertsch, William Bertsch, and Robert Bertsch; and sister Althea McDonough.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2008 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's United Church of Christ.
