Maxine Snyder, age 89, passed away Thursday morning, July 11, 2013 at her home. She was born October 6, 1923 in Huntington, Indiana to Eva Madge (Spees) and Ivan Roland Feighner. She graduated from Chesterville High School.
Maxine was a strong, independent woman who raised her family on her own. She refused to be stopped by her health issues. She retired from Westinghouse Corp in 1985 after over 30 years of service.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Walt) Haun of rural Ashland County; a granddaughter, Cynthia (Richard) Dewey of Columbus; a grandson, Gregory (Missy) Haun of Dowingtown, PA; five great grandchildren, Cody, Dale, Braeden, Sweden and Britain; a brother, Lee (Barb) Struble of NC; a sister, Erma Colopy of Mount Vernon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family may visit from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, July 14, 2013 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. The funeral service will be at the funeral home Monday at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Christopher R. Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
