

Meriena Sue Lawson, 60, of Lexington, Ohio, passed away late Saturday evening, August 15, 2015, at Crystal Care Center in Mansfield. She was born December 23, 1954, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Noah and Mary (Hunter) Cooley.
Staying home, raising her family, and creating lasting memories with her grandchildren were her top priorities. Meriena was a loving, caring and feisty lady who showered her family with her wonderful cooking. She lived most of her life in Ohio, but managed restaurants in Plymouth and Galion, Ohio. Visiting the Mohican area and fishing were a favorite pastime.
She is survived by her mother, Mary (Brumfield) Cooley of Mansfield; three sons, David Lawson of Shelby, Donnie Brown of Wooster, Rick (Dawn) Lawson of Mansfield; four daughters, Heidi Lawson of Shelby, Megan Barnason of Florida, Danielle (David) King of Upper Sandusky and Tara (Bob) Smith of Minnesota; a son-in-law, Kevin Norton of Shelby; twenty-one grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers, William Cooley of Mansfield, Frank Cooley and Michael Cooley, both of Indiana, Noah Cooley II and Dave Thompson, both of Mansfield; and many nieces and nephews. Meriena was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Franklin Cooley I and Mary (Hunter) Cooley; two sons, Terrance Lawson and Scott Brown; and a daughter, Andrea Smith.
There will be no services or visitation observed. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
