
Merle E. Taylor, age 68, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Friday, March 10, 2000 at MedCentral Mansfield. Mr. Taylor was born January 16, 1932 in Richland County as has spent most of his life in the Mansfield area. He retired as President of Roseland Screw Machine and attended Ontario United Methodist Church. He was a devoted father and family man. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Helen Snook Taylor; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jackie and Tony Duncan of Ontario, Kathy Taylor of Mansfield, Cindy and Joe Townley of Mansfield; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Tammy Taylor of Mansfield; eleven grandchildren, Sabrina, Zachary, Bear, Aaron, Natalie, Sean, Nathanial, Joshua, Brooke, Lauren and Jacob; two sisters, Dorothy Wuthrich and Evelyn Ryan, both of Ontario; two brothers, Harlan E. Taylor of Ontario and R. Vaughn Taylor of Fredericktown. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlan and Rhea Pifer Taylor, his son, Steven and his brother, Glen. Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors on Monday, March 13, 2000 from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Ontario United Methodist Church on Tuesday, March 14th at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Rev. James Winkler. Burial will be at Ontario Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Rescue Squad and/or the Ontario Methodist Church.
