Meta had been an active member at the former St. Peter's Evangelical Church. She loved family and cherished every moment spent with them. She also loved flowers and gardening. Meta was an exceptional cook and was well-known for her baked goods, especially cookies, cakes and strudels, all of which she memorized by heart. Her recipes were special to her as they were never measured, but perfected by taste.
Meta is survived by her daughter-in-law, Edith Heppner; three grandchildren, Stefanie (Tyler) Campbell, Nick (Christy) Heppner and Erica (Brandon) Prather; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gustav A. Heppner; son, Erich Heppner; granddaughter, Theresa Heppner; and two brothers and four sisters.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Memorial Park with Pastor Matthew Pond officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Ohio's Hospice of Dayton. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to have served the family.
