
Michael A. Foss, 52, of Mansfield died Sunday at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. He went home to be with the Lord on June 16, 2002 following a brief illness. Mr. Foss was born July 16, 1949, in Mansfield. He was a lifelong resident and a 1967 graduate of Madison High School. Michael was employed as a supervisor with General Motors until his retirement. He and his wife were avid hunters and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a member of Grace Brethren Church. Michael served during the Vietnam War with the US Marines and received the Purple Heart and Navy Commendation Medal with Combat 'V'.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Delores 'Spook' Hart Foss; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen and Stephanie Foss of Germany and Bryan Foss of Columbus, Ohio; two beautiful grandchildren, Reyna and Dalton Foss; two stepsons, Jarrod Maynor and Kevin Maynor, both of Mansfield; a brother, Doug Foss of Van Wert, Ohio; a sister, Michele Foss of Mansfield; and nieces and nephews. His parents, Harold 'Red' and Wilma Foss preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, June 19 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 10:30 a.m. conducted by Pastor John Picard. Military graveside services will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
