

He worked for the Ohio Department of Transportation as a mechanic. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an active man with a good sense of humor who enjoyed helping others. He also enjoyed tinkering in his garage, NASCAR, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and the company of his lap dog, Jasmine.
He is survived by his wife, Mary (Strine) Lefever; two daughters and sons-in-law, Molly and Tracy Stephens of Savannah, Ohio and Megan and Jason Mailloux of Ashland; two sons and daughters-in-law, Matthew (Janette) Lefever and Mark (Heather) Lefever both of Ashland; grandchildren, Kadence Hetsler, Haley Rose Lefever, Madeline Stephens, Addison Grant, Oliver Lefever, Cody Hamilton, Auston Stephens, Seth Stephens and two more expected soon; two sisters, Sally Lefever and Mary Ellen Lefever both of Savannah. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Patricia Strine; sisters-in-law, Cindy Lefever of Savannah and Chris (Carl) Miletto, brothers-in-law, Tom (Nancy) Strine, John Strine, Dan Strine and Patrick (Laurie) Strine; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John Lefever and Tom Lefever and his father-in-law, Gaylord R. Strine.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland where a Rosary will be recited at 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at St. Edward's Catholic Church celebrated by Father Rodney Kreidler. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Edward School, Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul or the charity of the donor's choice.
