

Michael Lester Rose, 59, of Fredericktown, died Sunday , July 13, 2014 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. Born September 1, 1954 in Mansfield, he was the son of Joseph Harlis and Margaret Howard Rose. Michael was a 1973 graduate of Madison Senior High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Michael was formerly employed as a computer programmer at PERS. He was happiest with his faithful canine companion, Scrappy, by his side. Michael was a huge Cleveland Browns fan.
He is survived by a brother, Joe Kenneth (Betsy) Rose of Butler; three sisters, Sharon Kay Ashworth of Bluffton, SC, Patricia Ann Reynolds of Richwood and Mary Beth Cross of Palm City, FL; two step children, Dawn Hoffman and Adam Ramey; seven aunts and uncles, Jim (Darlene) Howard, Orville (Catherine) Howard, Audrey Loughran, Della (Stan) Cook, Doris (Carl) Childers, Wendy Wise and Ida (Bill) Townsend; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Loreen Briner Rose; parents; brothers-in-law, David Ashworth and Theodore Reynolds; four aunts; and four uncles.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014 in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The memorial service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park at a later date with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad.
