

Mildred "Millie Sunshine" (Luedy) Myers, 87, of Mansfield, died Friday, January 30, 2015, at OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She was born June 28, 1927, at Sandy Hill in Lexington, Ohio, to the late John and Ella (Winkler) Luedy.
Mildred graduated from Lexington High School in 1945 and was a member of St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church. She retired from the Record Department at Smart's Music Store after 32 years of service. She loved to travel, having visited 49 states. She was a vibrant woman who epitomized patience as a virtue. She was always helping others and was loved by everyone at Wedgewood Estates.
Mildred collected salt and pepper shaker and had amassed an amazing collection of 350 sets. She like to write and enjoyed driving the "Golden Beauty", the car she and her husband bought on their 60th wedding anniversary. On November 29, 1947, she married her beloved husband, Paul C. Myers, whom she met when he returned to the area from the service. They were married over 60 years when he died on February 2, 2008.
She is survived by two brothers, Clarence Luedy and Eugene Luedy; many precious nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and many special friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Elsie Powell, Florence Beer and Marie Stainbrook; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Viola Luedy; sister-in-law, Sarah "Betty" Luedy; nephew, Bruce Luedy.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
