
Mildred 'Mickey' Brown Shrewsbury Shadel, 74, of Ontario, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Rosewood Manor, Galion. She was called home to be with our Lord. Born May 28, 1931 in Plymouth, she was the daughter of Claude and Bethel Brown. Mildred was a strong-willed person who loved her family, going to church, and playing Bingo. She retired from Krogers. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Mildred was very much loved and will be missed by all. Your suffering on Earth has ended, and plan for you has been fulfilled. So, in your passing and your memory, let us pray with you, Grammy.
She is survived by five children, Fredrick Valerie Shrewsbury, Susan Lynn Robert Hardrick, Mark Roberta Shrewsbury, Kim Reese, and Jeff Brown; nine grandchildren, Michelle and Mandy Shrewsbury, Kevin Pugh, Angela, Erica, and Mark Shrewsbury II, Latasha Damell Owens, Chasity Jerry Moton, and Leslie Hardrick; 13 great grandchildren; whom she leaves behind in God's open hands, along with her brothers, Russell, Curt Helen, Omar Elaine, Donnie Lynn, and Ray Brown; sisters, Lola Yardy, Susie Daryl Ewing, and Kathaleen Knipp; first husband, Walter Shrewsbury; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; special friends, Evelyn Wagner, Janice Southerland, Beverly Boulden, the Reedy family, Merideth Baggett, and Nancy Moore. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Bill Shadel; her parents; daughter, Judith Lee Shrewsbury; and sisters, Eula Lemaster, and Naomi Ruth Brown.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2006 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Michael Rogers from the Church of God, and Rev. Moses Eubanks from the Crestline Baptist Church. She will be carried to rest by Kevin Pugh, Mark Shrewsbury II, Damell Owens, Jerry Moton, Brian Brown, and Robert Hardrick. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. The family would like to give a special thank you to Rosewood Manor for the excellent care that they gave to Mildred.
