

Mona Jane 'Jayne' Wittmer, age 59, died August 12, 2004 in Mansfield, Ohio after a long illness. Currently she is happy in Heaven with her Lord. Jayne was born July 26, 1945 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. She moved with her family to Mansfield in 1947.
The Lord Jesus Christ led her family to the Mansfield Baptist Temple in the early 1960's where she accepted His free gift of salvation at the age of 16. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1964 and married Gene F. Wittmer in 1966. Together they reared four children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. She had a special gift for teaching small children and taught the three year-old Sunday school class for over twenty years. She was employed by Richland Bank as a teller for many years on Trimble and Cook Road.
She is survivied by her husband, Gene F. Wittmer; her mother, Audrey N. Burton of Mansfield; a sister, Carolyn L. Stamper of Mansfield; a brother, Wayne C. Stephens of Warren, Ohio; a step-sister, Connie Duncan of Gastonia, North Carolina; a daughter and son-in-law Beth Ann and Timothy O'Brien of Powell, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Ali Wittmer of Sulphur Springs, Texas, a son and daughter-in-law, Aaron and Maggie Wittmer of Lewis Center, Ohio; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Melissa Wittmer of Hillard, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Kathryn, Lucas, and Jonathan O'Brien, Ashley, Kylie, Katie, Kyle, and Abby Wittmer and Rylie Wittmer; two aunts Vera M. Greenhill of Hayesville and Eula F. Gee of Lucas; a cousin, Darrell Greenhill of Ashland; a cousin, Darlene Hassinger of Lexington; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow Stephens and her step-father, James Burton.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Friday August 13, 2004 from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday August 14, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Mansfield Baptist Temple, conducted by the Pastor Dale Adkins. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park.
