Nate worked at Newhope for 40 years and was very friendly. Everyone he met was greeted by his larger than life personality. He was the light and joy in his family and each one of them was special to him. Celebrating others, especially when he could sing his rendition of "Happy Birthday" was an event he looked forward to with anticipation. He loved to sing and dance and his heart was filled with music all the time. Nate enjoyed watching his favorite tv shows, especially Charlie's Angels.
He is survived by his siblings, Georgia (John A.) Cobb, George (Henrietta) Holmes, Minnie (Mark) Johns, Shirley Cobb, and Betty Cobb; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnell and Annie Cobb; and two siblings, Willie Bradley and Martha Loyd.
The funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Henry J. Bradley at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Community Temple Church of God in Christ, 338 Harker St., Mansfield. Private burial will be held at Mansfield Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday through Friday at the home of his sister, Shirley Cobb, 433 Woodridge Drive, Mansfield.
