Nikki Heisler, 78, of St. Petersburg, Florida, and formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, January 5, 2018, from Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, Florida. She was born March 16, 1939, in Athens, Greece, to the late Christos and Anastasia (Magoulas) Grammenos.
A born leader, Nikki was the family matriarch. She had a heart of gold, was very generous, and was beautiful inside and out. Nikki had a gregarious personality and was full of life. She loved children and they kept her young at heart. Her laughter was contagious and those who loved her have many treasured memories of her life.
Nikki was the best cook around. She loved gardening-both vegetable and flowers-and canned her own produce. She was also an expert seamstress and loved dancing. She enjoyed watching the birds that frequented her home. Traveling was a favorite activity and she especially enjoyed her wine tasting trips. She also enjoyed seeing her friends at the country club and watching OSU football games. A long time member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, she volunteered her time and talent for many dinners held at the church.
She is survived by a son, Christ Kallimanis of Indiana; a daughter, Vickie (Russell) Kallimanis-Sublett of Mansfield; a grandson, Christopher (Brooke) Kallimanis of Columbus, OH; two great-grandchildren, Anastasia M. Kallimanis and Ava Cady, both of Columbus; a brother, Spiros (Edith) Grammenos of New Jersey; a sister-in-law, Aikaterini Grammenos of Long Island City, NY; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Heisler; son, Deno Constantine; and brother, Stamatios Grammenos.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, February 5, 2018, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be recited at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018, in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 104 W. First St., Mansfield. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and son in Mansfield Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
