
Norma Jean Lamson Lewis, 74, of Mansfield, went home to meet her Heavenly Father on January 16, 2009 following a prolonged illness while visiting her daughter in Palmetto, Florida. She was born February 15, 1934 in Elmira, New York, to the late George and Virginia Schultz Lamson. Norma Jean was a faithful member of the Community Baptist Bible Church, and devoted her life to the word of God. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Allen Arthur of Palmetto, Florida; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Dallas C. Lewis of Mansfield, and Darrell Jenny Lewis of Butler; ten grandchildren and their spouses, Renee Mitch Wright, Rachel Bauer-Fithian, Roger Bauer, Sarah Lewis, Shanna Lewis, Dannielle George Patterson, Christopher Lewis, Denise Chad Henthorn, Deanna Lewis, and Davida Lewis; seventeen great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Lamson; a half brother, Carlyle George Lamson, Jr.; a half sister, Elizabeth Ann Lamson; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceding Norma in death was her husband, Dallas Ray Lewis; her two sons, Dwayne Gene Lewis, and David Wade Lewis; a sister, Evelyn Gladys Williams; a brother Raymond Lamson; and her parents.
Friends may call on Sunday, January 25, 2009, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street. Funeral services in honor of Norma, will occur at the funeral home on Monday, January 26, at 1:00 PM, and will be officiated by Pastor Joe Esarey. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery.
