She was born on December 14, 1927, in Lakeville, Ohio, to Harley B. and Erma E. (Henry) Bowman. Norma was a proud graduate of Bellville High School and went on to build a life rooted in devotion to family, home, and simple joys.
Norma shared 65 loving years of marriage with her husband, Richard Lee Swank, until his passing in 2011. Together they made their home in Mansfield, including many cherished years on Day Road, where Norma found great joy tending her gardens and mowing the family’s three-acre lawn—an activity she genuinely loved. She was known as a good cook, an avid reader, and a woman who found contentment in quiet routines and peaceful living.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Erma Bowman; her parents-in-law, Owen and Alberta Swank; and her beloved husband, Richard.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Lee Hines (Richard), of Summerville, South Carolina.
In keeping with Norma’s quiet spirit and personal wishes, her family will honor her life privately. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Mansfield Memorial Park in Ontario, Ohio.
