

Olga L. Miller, 87, formerly of Mansfield and Holmes Beach, Florida, died Thursday morning, March 18, 2004, at OSU Hospitals after a brief illness. She was born November 26, 1916, in Mansfield to Samuel and Christina Jovanovich Luich, and was a Mansfield area resident until moving to Florida in 1978. She was a 1934 graduate of Madison Sr. High School, where she played volleyball, basketball and bowling. She loved all sports, especially auto racing and football. She retired after 38 years of service at Westinghouse Corp. Olga had been a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Mansfield, and Gloria Dei in Florida, where she sang in the choir. She was a kind, generous woman, offering her home and hospitality to friends and family alike. She was a terrific seamstress and cook known for her delectable baked goods and traditional Serbian dishes. During the 1950s and 1960s, she was a Girl Scout and 4-H leader. She was Past President of the Order of the Eastern Star in Holmes Beach and current member of Ruth Chapter #17 in Mansfield. Olga loved traveling and new challenges with a special interest in dancing, country music, card playing and Bingo. She will be remembered for her indomitable spirit, positive attitude, graciousness and warm smile. Olga counted her long marriage to Fritz and her children as her greatest accomplishments.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frederick III and Diane Miller of Anna Maria, Fla; a daughter, Milena Miller of Athens, Oh.; grandchildren and their spouses, Brenda and Larry Gillis of Woodland Hills, Ca., Travis Rice of Anna Maria, and Toby and Jenny Aiken of Nashville, Tenn; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Mia Gillis and Chelsey Aiken; a sister-in-law, Katherine Lutz of Mansfield; and nieces and nephews, Michele Gates, JoAnn Luich, Marcia Stevenson, Ruth Stevenson, Marilyn Hoffman, John, Jerry and Joseph Miller; and many beloved cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Frederick 'Fritz' Miller, Jr. in 1993, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Rita Luich and Joseph and Clara Luich.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Sunday, March 21 from 2-5 and also one hour prior to funeral services to be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. Jerry Rhea. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
