Oliver Beach

Rev. Oliver J. Beach, 83, of Mansfield, died early Thursday morning, June 24, 2010 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born December 24, 1926 in Jenera, Ohio, he was the son of the late Oliver R. and Ilo R. Bender Beach. Rev. Beach retired as an ELCA minister and had previously ministered at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sulphur Springs, St. Paul Lutheran Church in North Robinson, St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Curtice, Ohio, Mt. Hope/Zion Lutheran Churches in Adamsville, Oakland Lutheran Church in Mansfield, and served as Chaplain at Good Shepherd Home in Ashland. He loved working on his computer and researching genealogy.

He is survived by his children, Deanna Don Essinger of Bluffton, Nancy Crum of New Washington, Cindy Mike Bugg of Mansfield; grandchildren, Sean Jennifer, Kelly Anissa and Tim Angela Essinger, Robin Jay Bulmer, Tammy Matthew Studer and Tina Stephen Seiler; and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia K. Reese Beach and son-in-law, Glen Crum.

Friends may visit from 2-5 Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Richard Beal will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2010 Park Avenue West, Mansfield. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mansfield or a charity of the donor's choice.
