
Opal Jeanette Miller 86, of Lexington, died Sunday February 25, 2007 at Winchester Terrace following an extended illness. Mrs. Miller was born October 21, 1920 in Morrow County to Jay C. and Hazel L. Eckert. She was a 1938 graduate of Lexington High School and also graduated from Mansfield Business College. Following business college she worked at Deyarmans Insurance, then during World War II she was employed at the North Electric Manufacturing in Galion, Ohio; and finally worked several years as bookkeeper/clerk at the Bookery in Mansfield. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Lexington Congregational Church, the Mansfield Christian Women Club, and also past president of the Richland County Homemakers Extension Council, the chestnut Chapel Homemakers Club and the Richland County Rural Mail Carriers Auxiliary.
Surviving are two sons, Terry W. Miller of Danville, California and Jerry L. Miller of Lexington; a brother, George A. Eckert of Lexington; two grandchildren, Shane W. & Corey S. Miller of Danville, California; and a great-grandson, Kayleb Miller, of Danville, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, W. Wilson Miller on August 8, 1989; and a sister-in-law, Mildred E. Eckert.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Wednesday February 28, 2007 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday March 1 at the funeral home, conducted by Rev. James Cheatham. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
