
Patricia K. Pakes, 71, of Perrysville, passed away Saturday morning, November 7, 2009, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born March 2, 1938, in Darby, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of Dr. Patrick J. and Catherine McNulty Kennedy. She was a 1956 graduate of Mercy Academy and 1960 graduate of Immaculata University. Patricia bred Newfoundland dogs and raised Morgan horses at Buckeye Acres at Widowville Heights where she resided for 35 years. Her greatest joys were her Newfoundland dogs, Morgan horses, collecting stuffed bears and watching The OSU Marching Band.
She is survived by her husband, Tom Pakes, whom she married July 2, 1960; one son, Thomas K. Brenna Pakes of Fredericksburg, VA; two daughters, Trish Dave Kehl and Carol Tod Olah, all of Columbus; five granddaughters, Cara and Catherine Pakes, Laura Pakes and Cheryl and Stephanie Olah; a sister, Kathy Wolfington of Paoli, PA; a brother, John Terry Kennedy of Short Hills, NJ; cousin, Leo Mary Kennedy of Scranton, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Avenue, Ashland. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 102 W. First St., Mansfield. A brunch will follow the mass at the Franciscan Center on W. First St., Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Patricia may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Central Ohio. The family wishes to extend special gratitude to the medical staffs at Samaritan Regional Hospital and MedCentral Mansfield Hospital.
