

Paul H. Carr, Jr., 65, of Mansfield, died Friday, April 29, 2005. Known to family and friends as 'Skip', he has begun a new journey. As he leaves his life here, he is sure to find peace in Heaven. Born December 29, 1939, in Mansfield, he was the son of Paul H. Carr and Esther Spicer Carr Eicher. He was raised in Mansfield, attending Mansfield Senior High, receiving his GED while serving in the U.S. Navy from 1956 to 1960. Paul worked for GM of Mansfield from 1962 to 1968 before moving to Cincinnati. He then worked for Proctor and Gamble for 19 years as a Food Packaging Development Inspector. He retired in 2002 from Sakrete Concrete as the General Plant Manager for both the Cincinnati and Indiana plants. Paul was a United Appeal Solicitor for both small business and private individuals and volunteered at St. John's Church nursery and Bingo in Cincinnati. To Skip, his greatest accomplishments were his daughters and granddaughters. He will be soulfully missed and lives in them. Sailing his boat 'Gabjelin' with his family, bicycling, auto restoration, cooking and sitting down with a good science fiction book were his hobbies.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Gabrielle Dominic Draper of Lexington and Jennifer Jeffrey Merchant of Indianapolis, Ind.; granddaughters, Holly, Brook, and Kylee Draper; brother, Terry Connie Carr of Mansfield; and nephews, Jon Carr of Mansfield and Joel Karen Carr of Destin, Fla. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Brian Carr. The service will be Wednesday May 4, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the Diamond Street home of Wappner Funeral Directors one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
