

Paul Jacob Hoffman, 88, ascended to Heaven Sunday, March 1, 2015, after an extended illness. Loyalty, commitment and dependability....these attributes personified Paul, son of Jacob and Inez (Conn) Hoffman, born in Mansfield, Ohio, on October 21, 1926.
Paul was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. He was a member of the following organizations: American Legion Post #16; V.F.W. Post #9943 where he was previously a member of Joint Veterans Burial Detail; 40 et 8; Sons of Herman; Moose; Kentucky Colonels; and Amvets.
Paul was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His passion in life was always his family.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jessie Rowena (Stoneburner) Hoffman; son, Howard (Mari) Hoffman; daughter, Paula Spognardi Ostheimer (Stan Shaum); granddaughters, Angela Ewan, Hilary Hoffman, Stephanie Ostheimer; Haiden (Matthew) Schlarb; grandsons, Trucian Ostheimer, Seth (Amanda) Ostheimer; great-granddaughters, Savannah Ewan, Aria Ostheimer; great-grandsons, Shane Ewan and Kacen Ostheimer; great-nephew, Marvin Ramsey; brother, Richard Hoffman; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Viola Castler, Josephine Clinage, Mary Queer; and brother, George Hoffman.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, in the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Phil Green will conduct the service. Burial will be in Mansfield Cemetery with military honors presented by the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to the 40 et 8 , 200 Ashland Rd., Mansfield.
