Pauline McFarland

Pauline O. McFarland, 91, of Lucas, died Monday, April 18, 2011 at her residence. Born March 15, 1920 in Newville, Ohio, she was the daughter of Wayne E. and Pearl Bemiller Pritchard. She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1939. An area homemaker, Pauline also worked for Lucas schools in the cafeteria for six years. A lifetime member of Little Washington Congregational Church, she was also a member of the Women's Fellowship at the church. Pauline was the treasurer of the church for two years and also treasurer of Little Washington Cemetery. She helped her sister catering many events and also enjoyed sewing, making her daughters' wedding dresses. Pauline loved to go for walks and attending family get-togethers.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, who she married June 24, 1939, George F. McFarland of Lucas; daughters, Judy Mae Brent Webber of New Garden and Wanda Kay Walle Krals Faust of San Diego, CA; sons, Tommy Alan Alesia McFarland of Lucas and Rodney Lee Sandra McFarland of Bellville; six grandchildren; many great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; numerous step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and step great great grandchildren; brother, Wayne Eldon Emma Pritchard; brother-in-law, Mike Petrovic; and, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Pritchard. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Jean, June, Lois, and Carolyn, two brothers Doyle and Carroll, and great granddaughter, Amber Zurcher.

Friends may call Friday, April 22, 2011 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Little Washington Congregational Church, 2323 Washington South Rd., Mansfield, conducted by Rev. Dave Root. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in Little Washington Cemetery.
