Born to the late William and Madeline (Cislaghi) Brown in Quincy, Massachusetts, Pete was the first of their seven children to greet them on the other side. Known as one of the “Brown Boys”, and number three in line, Pete’s siblings (Gretchen, Bill, Deborah, Phil, Tom and Barbara) will continue to share the many stories of hell-raising, mischief and good ole’ fun had by growing up on the farm in Lawrence, Kansas in the early years, summers visiting Nana and Gramp at “the Cape” and life on Lake Chaweva in Cross Lanes, West Virginia as a teen.
Pete married his high school sweetheart, Virginia “Ginger” (Naumann) Brown on January 29, 1965 after he entered the USAF where he served in Korea and at Loring AFB in Maine. During this time they welcomed two daughters, Kelley and Tracy, who gave them a run for their money-many years of love, laughter, tears and super fun memories (especially on summer vacations to Myrtle Beach).
Mansfield became home to the Brown family in 1970 where Pete took his HVAC training from the military and built a lifelong career with Standard Plumbing and Heating--winning the hearts and trust of many customers over his near 50 year career.
Always a lover of gadgets, Pete took a liking to collecting all types of combustion engines, from steam to antique washing machines and single stroke engines. But, his greatest love was collecting, trading and repairing spring driven antique clocks. He was a known authority and avid member of the National Watch and Clock Association.
Pete will be greatly missed by his wife Ginger, two daughters, six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, six siblings, many nieces and nephews and countless other family and friends that all loved him very much. His humor will be forever missed and treasured.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14 at Main Street United Methodist, 230 S. Main St., Mansfield. Rev. Dwayne Smith will conduct the service. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is privileged to serve the family.
