

Phillip M. Bottorf, 67, of Mansfield, died early Sunday morning, March 7, 2004, at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana following an extended illness. He was born May 20, 1936, in Mansfield to Raymond and Edith Bottorf and was an area resident his entire life and served his country in the U.S. Army. He happily worked for 44 years at General Motors until his retirement. Phillip was a strong soldier in the Lord and served as minister for 3 years in Ashland and one year in Bucyrus, and was currently serving as the assistant pastor of Christ Gospel Church in Mansfield. He also attended Tacoah Falls Bible College. The most joyful part of his life was studying the Word of God. Phillip enjoyed collecting lighthouses. He will be remembered as a very caring, humble man who loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Lynn Stewart Bottorf; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Fran Bottorf of Mansfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Massie of Jackson, Missouri; four grandchildren, Christopher Bottorf, Kristen Bottorf, Jared Massie and Alexis Massie; two step-grandchildren, Christopher Pearson and Joshua Pearson; three brothers and their wives, Raymond Bottorf, Danny and Marylin Bottorf, all of Mansfield, and Dennis and Sue Bottorf of Port Clinton; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. His parents preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, Wednesday, March 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Christ Gospel Church, 250 Home Avenue. Burial will follow in Mansfield Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Gospel Church.
