Rachael Strong Kamara

Rachael Strong Kamara, 67, of Ashland, died unexpectedly Friday, February 17, 2006, at her residence. Born May 20, 1938, she was the daughter of John B. and Nettie Glumm Strong. A resident of Ashland most of her life, Rachael had been employed as a secretary at Ashland College. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Business Professional Women's Club and Wesleyan Women. Rachael loved gardening, reading and writing and enjoyed visiting Lakeside.

Surviving are two sisters, Iantha Coffman and Mary McKinley both of Ashland; five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Allen and Doris Strong of Ashland, Glenn and Jeanette Strong of Mansfield, Clair Strong of Ontario, Chuck and Donna Strong of Newport, TN and Jim and Bonnie Strong of Perrysville; numerous nieces and nephews, Sheila Strong, Lisa Strong, Jeff Strong, Susan Grubb, Laura Bruno, Linda Morgan, Phil Strong, Mark Strong, Dave Strong, Tim McKinley, Tom McKinley, Kimberly Strong, Jennifer Passantino, Tammy Nawaz and a special cousin, Jo Ann Kleinfelder. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Juanita Strong.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors with Rev. Thomas Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Strong's Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, February 21, 2006, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association or to First United Methodist Church Building Fund.
