Ralph L. Fairbanks, 78, died Monday evening, October 27, 2008, at Friendship Village of Columbus. Born May 26, 1930 in Kittanning, PA, he was the son of W. Howard and Josephine E. Dickey Fairbanks. He retired from Mansfield Tire and Rubber Company. Ralph enjoyed attending church and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a wonderful, caring family member who enjoyed taking care of others.
He is survived by two sisters, Laura Dihle of Mansfield and Martha Rigby of Marion; a brother, Paul Fairbanks of Chillicothe; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; six brothers and sisters, Clarence, LeRoy, Kenneth, Bertha Avanell, Ruth and Elsie Fairbanks.
Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, November 2, 2008, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Christopher Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
