Richard Gross

Richard L. Gross, 74, of Mansfield died Friday evening, June 13, 2003 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. Born December 30, 1928 in Mansfield to John and Ernestine Schiller Gross, Dick was a life-long resident and graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1947. He served in the U.S. Army from 1948-1951. Dick retired from Tracy & Avery Company in 1980 after 37 years and served as President the last 8 years. He was Marketing and Public Affairs Director with First Buckeye Bank now KeyBank. Dick was a member of Amvets Post #26.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carolyn J. Gross; five children, Thomas and Michelle Gross of Glenmoore, Pennsylvania, Rebecca and Robert Householder of Jeromesville, Ohio, Patricia Gross of Arlington, Texas, Daniel and Carmen Gross of Clarendon Hills, Illinois, and James and Kathy Gross of Fontana, California; five grandchildren, Chris Gross, Adam Gross, Alexi Gross, Eliza Gross and Steven Brewer; a sister, Mary Jane Caraway; and two brothers, Donald J. Gross and Michael A. Gross, all of Mansfield.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, Monday, June 16. Friends will be received in the church reception hall following the mass. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Monsignor Dunn Scholarship Fund, OSU-Mansfield Scholarship Fund c/o Richland County Foundation, or the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
