
Richard L. Harrison, age 87, of Mansfield died Friday, July 16, 2004 at Outlook Pointe after a brief illness. Richard was born December 16, 1916 to the late William J. and Laura Remy Harrison and lived here all his life. He was a graduate of Mansfield Senior High School and Ohio University. Richard retired in 1980 from Hartman Electric where he was Vice President of Engineering. He was a member of the American Institute of Electrical Engineering, the U.S. Trotting Association and was active on the Richland County Fair Board. Richard was an active volunteer with Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret J. Hall Harrison of Mansfield; three daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret L. 'Peggy' Harrison of Mansfield, Jane E. Harrison of Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Leigh and Mark Jenkins of Garden City, Michigan; four grandchildren and a grandson-in-law, Lisa L. Whitt and Anthony Duckworth of Mansfield, Elizabeth A. Pfizenmayer of Charleston, S.C., Emily M. Jenkins and Benjamin M. Jenkins both of Garden City, Michigan; a great granddaughter, Rebecca M. Duckworth of Mansfield; a brother, John W. Harrison of Palo Alto, CA; a sister, Norma Crotty of Mansfield; and five nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A private Memorial service conducted by Henry Koenig will be held at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Thursday, July 22, 2004. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center or MedCentral Hospice.
