Robert L. Baker, 62, of Mansfield, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at his home after a brief illness. Born August 19, 1943, in Santa Maria, California, he was the son of Robert W. and Eula Welchance Baker. A Mansfield area resident most of his life, he retired from Peabody-Barnes. Mr. Baker served with the U.S. Marine Corps and enjoyed watching NASCAR and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Ann E. Meyers Baker; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David Alan Baker of West Salem and Robert Wade and Mary L. Baker of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Tiffany Lorraine Baker, Kyle David Baker, Emily Victoria Baker, Robert L. Baker, Graceanna Louise Baker and Olivia Ann Zeigler; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Barbara and Larry Lamb and Cynthia Wilfong; and a brother, Ronald Baker of Mansfield. His parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 South Lexington Springmill Rd., Mansfield, officiated by Rev. Bruce Copley. Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
