

Bob worked as a skill tradesman with General Motors and after 48 years of service he retired in 2006. He honorably served in the United States Air Force, was a longtime member of the V.F.W., and a former member and supporter of the American Legion.
Bob and Delores loved to travel and became residents of Port Isabel, TX 12 years ago. He attended the Island Baptist Church on South Padre Island, TX.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Delores, daughter, Birdie, son, Bobby, sister, Gladys Hicks, sister-in-law, Lillian Vance, niece, Barbara Whittner and special friends, Ronny and Delecia Maraett, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by a son, Eric K. Vance, parents, George and Susan Kelly Vance, foster parents, Floyd and Minnie Gore, and two brothers, Joseph and George A. Vance.
Funeral services will be held at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018 with Pastor Mark Bailey and Rev. Joseph Vance officiating. Burial will follow at the Mansfield Memorial Park also in Ontario, OH. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until the service time at the funeral home.
