Robert "Jeff" Jeffrey Jones

Robert Jeffrey (Jeff) Jones, 53, of Mansfield, Ohio died unexpectedly the morning of February 2, 2018. Jeff was born October 4, 1964 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was a graduate of King George High School in King George, Virginia. Jeff served his country proudly in the United States Navy for nearly four years in active duty on the USS John F. Kennedy. He received Meritorious Unit Commendation and a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.

Jeff studied Architectural Drafting at Columbus State and worked as a draftsman at DDP and Associates in Columbus, Ohio. He also studied Youth Ministry at Liberty University.

He had many hobbies that included constructing models (trains, ships, planes, cas and buildings), taking road trips, antiquing, sports memorabilia collecting and flea market shopping. Jeff was a huge Star Wars and My Cousin Vinny fan. He loved watching Virginia Tech football, especially when they beat the Buckeyes, and was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan. Music was another passion of his. He was a Contemporary Christian Music fan and loved going to concerts and festivals. His absolute favorite thing to do was spending time with his daughters, movie dates, concerts and going out for pancakes or pizza dinners.

While living in Mansfield, Jeff attended Crossroads Community Church, Storyside and NewLife Church. He was affiliated with Westwood Baptist Church in Zanesville, Ohio and Tabernacle Baptist Church in King George, Virginia

Jeff's pride and joy were his three daughters, Brittany of California, Amanda of California and Jaylyn Jones of Mansfield. To him, family was everything.

He is survived by his three daughters; two brothers Floyd "Wil" (Robin) Jones of Virginia and Garnett "Buddy" Jones of Virginia; aunt Garnette Jones Short of Virginia; uncle Michael Lynn Jarrell of Virginia; five nieces and two nephews. Preceding him in death were his mother and father, Robert and Linda J. Jones.

He was a person that didn't know a stranger. He will be missed greatly by all who knew him.

Services will be held Saturday February 10, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at New Life Church in Fredericktown, Ohio. Pastor Rick Graumlich will be officiating the ceremony.
