

He served in World War II and retired in 1991 from AK Steel after 43 years of service. He was a devoted court observer for several years, loved reading and studying any type of law materials and in his spare time he played the piano and sang.
Robert was very supportive in his grandchildren’s sporting events and was a people person, never meeting a stranger. He will be truly missed by many.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his dedicated wife of 65 years, Jacquelyn (Washington) Jones; one daughter, who was his caregiver, Pamel’la (JR) Rembert of Mansfield; one son, Lester (Carla) Jones of Mesquite, Texas; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one god daughter, Danielle Jones and one god granddaughter, Raquel Jones both of Mansfield, Ohio; one niece, Celeste Robinson of Berkley, CA; one nephew, George Robinson, Jr. of Canton, Ohio; and numerous friends and acquaintances.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roger Jones; and one sister, Gladys Jones Robinson.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2012 at the Diamond Street Chapel of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
The family will receive friends at the home of Jacquelyn Jones, 187 E. First Street and his daughter Pam Jones-Rembert at 624 Glendale Blvd. up until the service.
