
Robert C. Miller, 89, of Mansfield, died Sunday, November 19, 2006, at Infinia Assisted Living after a long illness. Born January 26, 1917, in Bucyrus, he was the son of Wesley and Pearl Haurer Miller and lived most of his life in the Bucyrus area. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Navy and was a member of the LST Association. Bob worked in the welder maintenance department at Timken Roller Bearing from 1954 to 1979. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Robinson. Bob enjoyed many outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing. In later years, he enjoyed watching college football and basketball especially Ohio State.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Helen L. Staffstall Miller; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Delbert Lampe of Loveland, CO and Mary Lou and Gerald Erwin of Mansfield; two grandsons, Randy and Rob Grove of Loveland, CO; two granddaughters, Lynette Schoenman of Hudson and Vicki Walters of Chicago, IL; and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Richard and a sister, Berniece.
There will be no calling hours or services at this time. Graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice, 335 Glessner Avenue, Mansfield, OH 44903. The Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
