Robert Norris

Robert E. Norris, 77, of Mansfield died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at his home. Born September 14, 1937 in Mansfield he was the son of Elmer L. and Loea (Shoe) Norris. Robert joined the U.S. Air Force right after high school and worked at the Steel Mill for approximately 30 years. He was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was also a member of Shiloh Masonic Lodge #544 where he was a 32nd degree Mason and a four-time master. An avid fisherman, Robert loved working in the yard and enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns and Indians. He was an amazing husband and father and his greatest joy was spending time with his two grandsons.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Francis (Smith) Norris of Mansfield; son, Steve Norris (fiancée, Kelly Bays) of Mansfield; grandsons, Scott Norris and Andrew Norris; one great grandchild on the way; brothers, Vern (Lucille) Norris and Gary Norris; two sisters, Sandy Norris and Carol (Marty) Hildebrand; brother-in-law, George Smith; sister-in-law, Pauline Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, LeRoy Norris and sisters, Audrey, Eileen, Midge, and Donna.

Friends may call Thursday, March 12, 2015, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, with Masonic Services being held at 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held Friday, March 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Windsor Park Cemetery conducted by Rev. Dr. Pentti Maki. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
