Robert Shepherd

Robert Shepherd, 56, of Mansfield, died Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Triumph Hospital. Born June 29, 1951 in West Green, Georgia, he was the son of Ray and Lavirn Morris Shepherd. He was employed in the construction business as a roofer. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his grandsons and his dog, B.J. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam from 1969-1972.

Surviving are his wife, Pat Hamler Shepherd; daughter, Robin Hamler Richard Riggleman of Shelby; three siblings, Bill Heather Shepherd of FL, Terry Lisa Carr and Leslie Tina Carr, all of Akron; four grandchildren, Devon Hamler, Braedyn Riggleman, Xavier Riggleman and Vladimir Riggleman; and five nieces and nephews, Matt Carr, Sara Carr, Vicky Rose, Jason Carr and Kristy Carr. Preceding him in death were his parents; stepfather, Erman Carr; grandparents; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Graveside services conducted by Rev. Dick Pass will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 25 at Mansfield Cemetery with military honors by Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail. Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors from 11:45-12:45 Saturday.
