

She was born October 26, 1944 in Belleville, Ohio to Ellenore Maxine Shoeman and Robert Wayne Clinage.
She is survived by her children, Janet (Loren) Roberts of Ashland, Brenda (Griffin) Hurrell of Mansfield, Robert Nagel of Mansfield, Bill (Amy) Nagel of Ontario, Lewis Nagel of Luray, Virginia and Jude (Dan) Nagel Warren of Burney, California; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Nagel; and infant daughter, Cynthia Sue; her brother, Charles Swigart; as well as her sons, Ronald, Brian and Bruce Nagel.
Roberta grew up in the restaurant business and spent many years working at local establishments such as Oak Park Tavern and the Mifflin Inn. She was an excellent cook. Roberta retired from Richland County Children Services following several years as a childcare worker and cook.
Roberta is fondly remembered for her cooking and baking, her sense of humor and her fierce love for her family. She also enjoyed reading, knitting, sewing and watching Jeopardy.
Her family was her pride and joy. She enjoyed family gatherings, occasional trips to the casino and spending time with her beloved Chihuahua, Mikey.
As per Roberta’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service or calling hours. There will be a small celebration of life for the immediate family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requeste d memorial contributions be sent to the OSU James Cancer Center. 460 West 10th Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43210.
