
Rocco M. Fanello, 86, of Mansfield, died Monday, November 2, 2009 at the home of his son and daughter-in-law. Born January 4, 1923 in Mansfield, he was the son of Joseph and Mary Mazza Fanello. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Rocco was a millwright by trade and a member of Union Local #1871 and St. Peter's Catholic Church. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. Rocco touched the lives of everyone he came in contact with. He had many hobbies including drawing landscapes and making beautiful family photo albums. We will always see Rocco in the art that he created. Our family wishes to express deep thanks to the following, Elmcroft of Ontario, Dr. Bruce Grund and the Mansfield Family Practice, Richland County Kidney Center, Southern Care Hospice, and Attorney Jeffrey N. Kramer. Our love, respect and thanks to everyone in the Fanello family.
He is survived by three children and their spouses, Shirley A. Meeker, Joseph J. "Jim" and Cheyenne Fanello, and Sharon L. and Mike Fagan, all of Mansfield; grandchildren, Eric and Marcinda Stoltenberg, Kelly and Leah N. Fanello, Jeffrey Phelps and his wife, Crystal, Brian Phelps and his wife Kathy, and Jason Phelps and his wife, Corrina; 14 great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Mr. and Mrs. DC Fanello, Mrs. Jennie Toms, Mr. Anthony Fanello, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Fanello, Mr. and Mrs. James Fanello, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Fanello, Mr. Sam Fanello, and Mary Lou Fanello. He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Mary Fanello; his wife, Diamonda "Peg" Fanello; daughter, Linda Kay Fanello Reedy; and great-grandson, Diego Norris.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd., Mansfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home conducted by Father Tony Borgia. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
