
Roger Allen Lyons Sr., 50, of Mansfield died Thursday evening, February 13, 2003 at MedCentral Shelby after a brief battle with cancer. Mr. Lyons was born July 8, 1952 in Ohio. He was employed with Trade Wind Express and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella P. Lyons; two daughters and sons-in-law, Loretta & Lance Slocum of Greenwich, Audrey & Tim Justice of Mansfield, a son, Roger A. Lyons Jr. of Mansfield; two daughters, Amy Temple of Shreve, Ohio and Peggy Mulidore of Big Prairie, Ohio; 14 grandchildren whom he loved very much; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosemary & James Rowland of Killbuck, Ohio, Sharon Sue & George Simpkins of Nashville, Ohio and Neva Blair of Peebles, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law, Carl & Ruth Lyons and Gene & Mary Lyons, all of Mansfield, David & Grace Lyons of Chillicothe, Ohio, Robert Lyons of Kentucky, Donnie Lyons of Coshocton, Ohio, Paul Lyons and Bill Lyons, both of Waverly, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Buster & Martha Kennedy, Wes & Margaret Ethel, Eugene & Barb Pettry, Tom & Deb Pettry and John Pettry & Janice Frame, all of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noel J. & Mary Louise Lyons; and his best friend, Freddy Crank.
Friends may call at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home conducted by Pastor Fred Crank. Burial will follow at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in care of Marcella P. Lyons.
