
Rose M. Chelski, 63, of Mansfield, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at MedCentral Mansfield. Born October 19, 1947 in Mansfield, she was one of seven children to George and Susanna Kanz Chelski. She was a graduate of Madison High School in 1965. After graduation, Rose attended Mansfield Beauty School and became a hairdresser. She also worked at factories for many years at Pioneer and Brunswick Defense. Rose liked to travel to Florida, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, and the Bahamas. She was a member of the VFW #3494 and Parents without Partners. In her spare time Rose enjoyed dancing at the VFW, reading, knitting, and taking care of her granddaughter, Carly.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly Thornsberry; granddaughter, Carly Sue Stevens; sisters, Nancy Miles and Ruth Ann Brown; brothers, James Trudy Chelski and Eugene Beverly Chelski; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward and Carl Chelski.
Funeral services will be held March 2, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. at the Diamond St. Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, conducted by Pastor Linda Lewis. Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
