Rosemary Miller

Rosemary Miller, 86, of Mansfield, passed away Thursday morning, July 13, 2017, at Lexington Court Care Center. She was born January 31, 1931, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Jerome Vincent and Grace Marie (Militello) Gentile.

She graduated from St. Peter's High School in 1949. Family was most important to her and she diligently clipped out every newspaper article in which they were mentioned. Every holiday and birthday was recognized with a card, phone call, or large family gathering. Rosemary attended all the sporting and extra curricular activities of her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was their biggest fan and most ardent supporter. Hard work was second nature to Rosemary and she worked her way up at Sprint, starting in customer service and retiring as a bookkeeper in the Treasurer's Office.

In the little free time she had, Rosemary enjoyed volunteering as a "Gray Lady" at Mansfield General Hospital and serving on several church and school committees. She was quite adept at both crochet and knitting and made many afghans for family and friends. Reading, playing cards and solving word games were favorite leisure activities. A caring, compassionate woman, she set the wonderful example of caring for others for all to see. She enjoyed keeping up with friends and family through cards, email and Facebook.

Rosemary is survived by her husband of 66 years, Eugene A. Miller; children, Mike (Diane) Miller and Jerry (Becky) Miller; five grandchildren, Jay (Ashley) Miller, Stephanie (Chris) Shegitz, Chris Miller (fiancée, Melissa), Matt Miller and Jeff Miller; four great-grandchildren, Myles, Josalynn, Reace and Hannah; a sister, Virginia Goddard; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
