Roy W. Phillips, 70, of Nelsonville, OH died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Hickory Creek Nursing Home. Born March 3, 1944 in Sullivan, he was the son of James Edgar and Arvilla (Whitmore) Phillips. Roy attended Dale Roy School and had worked as a custodian at Ashland University for several years. He enjoyed his daily morning walks with his dog, Lucky, watching 50's and 60's TV shows, and going to Tammy's Restaurant.
He is survived by his brothers, James Phillips and Donald Atwell and sisters, Edna Satmary, Dorothy Campo, Betty Mills, Donna Phillips, and Linda Warren. Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Ray; brothers, Ronald, Kenneth, and Mickey; and sisters, Mary Reynolds, Arlene Phillips, and Nancy McElheney.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave., Ashland. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Ashland County Memorial Park.
